As I write this the Tigers are on the way to Troy, NY; just outside of Albany, to begin a two-game series with the Tri-City ValleyCats. To help make the time pass in the long bus rides in the minor leagues, every trip coincides with one or more movies. For as long as the bus is on the road, there is a movie playing. Since it’s a three-hour trip this morning, it’s a two movie bus ride.
The first choice today is “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. It’s pretty entertaining with a good storyline. (I’m not going to be THAT guy and tell you what happens in the movie).
The goal is really quite simple. For as long as the Tigers are on the bus, a movie will be playing. Athletic Trainer T.J. Obergefell has a case of 162 movies. (Yes that’s an accurate number, I just asked him). The Tigers will be covered all the way through this season, next season and for all the bus rides that T.J. is on.
I’d like to tell you more but the movie is just starting to draw me in.
I’ll talk to you tonight in Troy, NY. 6:50 p.m. with the pre-game show on AM 1310 WICH and online at www.cttigers.com.
