Baseball Camp

On Monday and Tuesday, Baseball Camp was held at Dodd Stadium.

Campers received instruction from Tigers’ players and coaches in the areas of:

BaseRunning,

Infield,

Outfield,

Hitting

and Pitching.

Before drills started each day, Eric McGinnis, the Tigers’ Strength and Conditioning Coach, led campers in stretching and warmup drills.

Following camp each day, players and coaches signed autographs for the kids.

Homestand Recap: July 30 – August 1

Lowe’s sponsored a Build and Grow Clinic on the concourse during the game.

Another Build and Grow Clinic is scheduled for Saturday August 27th.

 Tyler Collinshit 2 HR’s, including the walkoff home run in the 12th inning, on Saturday night.

First Baseman Aaron Westlake, the Tigers’ 3rd round pick this June, made his debut with the Tigers.

The Pizza Girl made her final appearance at Dodd Stadium this season during the homestand.

As with every Sunday home game, children could run the bases, presented by Ben and Jerrys, and play catch in the outfield, sponsored by Dick’s Sporting Goods after the game.

The Tigers’ next home game is Sunday against Lowell.

Homestand Recap: 7/21 – 7/25

There was a large amount of military personnel and their families at the game Friday night.

The Field was designed with patriotism in mind.

A fireworks show and comedian followed the game.

The Day had a special ticket offers for readers Saturday night,

and raffled off many items including a Tigers’ team signed bat.

As part of Boy Scout Night, scouts had a pregame parade and camped out on the field following the game.

A check presentation was made during the game to Officer Michelle Wyatt, as part of Cop on Top, a fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics.

As with every Sunday Funday, children were able to run the bases and have a catch on the field after the game.

There’s a noon start and numerous buses in the parking lot, it must be Camp Day.

The stands were awash with different colored t-shirts representing each of the numerous camps in attendance.

The Tigers return home Saturday for a 3 game series with Batavia.

Lowell Series – July 2 and July 3

This weekend, the Lowell Spinners visited Dodd Stadium for a pair of games.

Many Red Sox fans came to see the Tigers tangle with the New York-Penn League affliate of the Boston Red Sox.

Saturday night was Lowe’s Night at the ballpark.

Lowe’s Rally Towels were given out to the first 1,000 fans in attendance.

Grill Master 4-Burner Stainless Steel Gas Grill

Lowe’s also gave away a grill to a lucky fan.

This weekend, the Hole in the Wall Bar also received a new addition.

“Elvis” was in the building for Sunday Funday.

There was a real patriotic theme at the stadium.  Fans were handed American flags as they entered the gates,

and the Tigers wore their patriotic jerseys.

It was Comcast Day at Dodd Stadium; and one lucky fan went home with a Comcast gift bag, including a $100 Best Buy gift certificate!

New Canaan’s Curt Casali made his professional debut on Sunday for the Tigers.

The Tigers won on a walkoff  Home Run by Javier Azcona.

The victory was followed by Kids Run The Bases, sponsored by Ben & Jerry’s,

and Have A Catch, sponsored by Dick’s Sporting Goods.

The Tigers return home on Saturday night against Brooklyn.
